Welcome to our Mental Health Support Services.
At Kool Koaching we have a dedicated space designed to assist children, teens, and their families through the complexities of mental health and emotional well-being.
At our practice, we understand the unique challenges children face in today’s world and the impact it has on their growth. What Our Clients Say
I’m so impressed with the entire Kool KATTS team so this is an appreciation email. The warm welcomes, the on time appointments, the progress ‘J’ is making, the communication, the holiday session offerings are all so organised and professional. Kool KATTS provides a sense of relief in so many ways. I wanted to express my appreciation in writing so it can be forwarded up the chain as appropriate.
I would not hesitate to recommend Kool KATTS to anybody.
During the COVID-19 health crisis, Johnny was unable to attend clinic sessions but his parents knew how important it was to continue with weekly therapy sessions. We were able to connect Johnny and his mother with an occupational therapist facilitated by telehealth therapy sessions.
.
Johnny’s mother shared with us how empowering she found the first session. She felt she was in the ‘drivers seat’ of his development and reported her engagement with Johnny grew tenfold. The home therapy sessions, working directly with his mum, proved positive for Johnny too, who began to problem solve himself. He was more content working on these skills at home than he had been in the clinic and made rapid progress in attention and regulation, relationship building, and even glimmers of pretend play.
He had poor endurance for activity and was unable to engage in physical tasks longer than a few minutes, which meant he was unable to play in the playground. Jimmy also struggled to maintain friendships.
We began therapy work with Jimmy in our sensory gym and built up his endurance for activity, muscular strength and control. We coached him into trying activities that he found anxiety-provoking, like jumping from a height into a lycra swing. Through repetitive work, he was able to build his self-esteem and body awareness, which decreased his anxiety.
Jimmy’s occupational therapist incorporated scenes and themes from his favourite computer game ‘Roblox’, to keep sessions fun and engaging.
